We’re thrilled to bring you the latest edition of Self-Driving Stories, where we recap the most important news and breakthroughs from the past three months. Let’s dive into the latest and greatest of March and April.

aiSim updates

In April we announced the 5.1.0 release of aiSim! In the new version, we introduced visibility mask ground truth output to simulate sensor blockage in a more realistic way and introduced obstacle avoidance for pedestrians in the scenarios. To read the release notes, click here

We also introduced Atlas, the integrated map pipeline of aiSim! With it, users can effortlessly import industry-standard map formats with just a click, without needing third-party tools, and run scenarios seamlessly — with native support for OpenSCENARIO. In this video, you can see the first aiSim-supported map format, ASAM e.V. OpenDRIVE, in action.

Our AI Research Scientist team’s demo submission, “Controllable Neural Reconstruction for Autonomous Driving,” will be presented at CVPR ’24 this June — which is huge! By the way, the NeRF capabilities are now natively supported in aiSim — as you can see in this video. For more details on the paper, click here

aiWare updates

Deploying automated driving at scale requires an efficient, scalable, safe AI processing solution. Check out our latest video featuring the aiWare Neural Processing Unit that delivers on all fronts. With industry-leading performance, while meeting ASIL B safety standards, aiWare is revolutionizing the automotive AI acceleration landscape. For more, visit this link

As you can see in the video above, the right approach to functional safety in the semiconductor IP industry is essential — it not only helps with efficiency but can also cut system-level costs. Read Mustafa Imran Ali’s latest blog about how aiWare, the world’s first ASIL B-certified NPU hardware IP, was designed ground-up for FuSa compliance! Click here
